Whole Foods Market is set to open a new organic grocery store in Miami, slated to open in 2013. Whole Foods already has 10 stores throughout South Florida’s Palm Beach, Broward and Miami-Dade counties, and with another one planned to open in 2012 in Pembroke Pines, this downtown Miami location will be its 13th.

According to GlobeSt.com, retail leasing representative of Metropolitan Miami and Whole Foods representative Lyle Stern noted, “This is a huge endorsement for the population base in the downtown Miami and Brickell corridor.”

In fact, the number of residents in downtown Miami has increased 81 percent in the last 10 years, and another 10,000 people are expected to flock to the area over the next three years, according to the Miami Downtown Development Authority.
