Miami’s Design District May Receive New Commercial Neighborhood

Miami’s Design District, which is currently know as a hot spot for art galleries, design furniture and  restaurants may be receiving a new commercial neighborhood within the next few years. Property owner and developer Craig Robins recently proposed to build the $312 million high-end, commercial neighborhood which would feature 19-acres and more than 1.1 million square feet of floor area.

By the time its construction is complete the neighborhood will be comprised of 96 residential units, 53 hotel units and 2,571 above-ground and below-grade parking spaces. There will also be over 35,000 square feet of open space, 42,000 square feet of civic space and the addition of 1,200 permanent jobs.
