Miami International AirportWe’ve all been tempted to buy a souvenir or something we didn’t really need from one of the many stores that line the terminals of major airports, and Miami International Airport may soon make it even harder for you to resist. One of the many concepts that are being considered for the renovation of the Central Terminal is a new multi-level indoor shopping mall complete with escalators.

According to Jose Ramos, who is overseeing the master plan development for the county Aviation Department, ”it would be a large retail development unlike what we have in travel anywhere in the United States.” As the airport’s oldest terminal, which dates back to the 1950s, it would be modernized and made capable of handling passengers as well as retail, office and hotel space. Although the proposed plan is still in the early stages, what are your thoughts on the idea?
