Urbanism Group is thrilled to learn that one of the largest commercial development projects in Florida’s history will be soon be underway in downtown Miami.

According to a recent article from GlobeSt., the master plan for a $3 billion mixed-use space to be located on a primo waterfront spot has just been completed by Malaysia-based developing company Gentig Group. The massive luxury complex will be known as Resorts World Miami and is inspired by the ocean and Florida’s coral reefs, says the co-founder and principal for Arquitectonica, the design team that will be creating the complex.

“At Resorts World Miami, building designs echo familiar forms that are part of our identity, including tropical fish and seashells,” said Bernardo Fort-Brescia in a prepared statement. “When you describe Miami and Florida, you inevitably come back to the water. We have captured that relationship with Resorts World Miami’s design.”

Positioned in the heart of the City of Miami, central located between Miami Beach and MIA, the project plan includes four hotels with a total of 5,200 rooms. The destination resort will include a super-luxury hotel, a contemporary hotel, a convention hotel, and a family hotel, offering a lodging option for each segment of the market.

Stay tuned to Urbanism Group for regular updates on the progress of this exciting project.
