JC Penny Outlet in Sawgrass Will Remain Open
The latest South Florida news last month from retail titan JCPenny indicated that the Texas-based company was going to be closing their outlet location at Sawgrass Mills in Sunrise on the first of July. But it seems as though their plans have changed.
According to the South Florida Business Journal, the 103,000-square-foot store will remain open indefinitely, store spokesman Tim Lyons confirmed in an e-mail. While the company doesn’t have a long-term plan in place right now outlining exactly where they’ll be, they’re said to be keeping their options open and will remain put for now.
From the SFBJ:
The news that JCPenney plans to remain open there comes as the mall last week announced plans for its first big expansion in two years, with the addition of 40,000 square feet of new space and the build out of the former Wannado City space.
