Florida the Top State in Potential to Grow Jobs

In a national study of potential to grow jobs, Florida ranked No. 1, according to The Miami Herald. To clarify the meaning of this ranking, Miami Herald reports:

“The report emphasizes the ranking doesn’t equate to job growth — that is, Florida won’t necessarily lead in creating jobs. But the Sunshine State has the potential to compete in a broader range of industries than the other states.”

The study—based on 20 years worth of data—was done by Wells Fargo, and showed that Florida ranks so high not only because of tourism and the hospitality industry, but also for its regional competitiveness in 22 different industries, including finance and other professional services. Plus, medical care and research is a growing field in the state.
