Keys to Harmonious Office Layouts

The layout of your office and how you arrange items and furniture inside of it really do make a difference. You can’t just shove some desks in the corner and expect the environment to be friendly and welcoming to your employees. Creating a comfortable work space that encourages creativity and hard work isn’t difficult, though.

All it takes is a couple of suggestions and ideas to get you thinking in new ways. It all really boils down to thinking about space and relationships. To get you on the right track, here’s a couple of helpful pointers when it comes to designing and arranging an office:

  • Avoid rigidity: Stacking desks one after another in symmetry saves space, yes, but encourages a somewhat claustrophobic atmosphere
  • Traffic flow: Keeping space for easy walking and creating an open atmosphere is key for feeling comfortable as well as being able to just get from one place to another
  • Think creatively with theme: Establishing a theme for an office space bring a sense of continuity and will help your team think more creatively and feel more at peace
